For some people, their dogs are their children. My husband and I do not have kids yet, but we do have two dogs. I’ve previously posted my dogs, Camy and Jules, on here. Last week, we had beautiful weather and I couldn’t pass up the bright blue sky. I had a free afternoon, so I took Camy out for a little photo session. We’ve had Camy for a little over four years now, but she’s somewhere between 7 and 8 years old. She’s starting to grey around her nose and she’s so calm. My Mom bought Camy a grey and yellow sweater from Wal-Mart – the sweaters were on sale for five dollars – and that’s what she’s wearing in these photos.
I love playing with my camera and trying different techniques to help me become a better photographer. I absolutely think it’s important to understand the logistics of the photograph and how to manipulate the camera, therefore, I’m trying to become the best I can at shooting in manual mode. These photographs were all taken in manual mode. Hopefully you won’t become tired of seeing photographs of my dogs… as I continue to use them for practice! **I realized I’d added photographs of Jules and Camy to my flickr account, but hadn’t posted them on the blog! The photos at the end of the slideshow are from several weeks ago. I have a child-size red leather chair for sessions that Camy curled up in, and Jules was lounging on our sofa at home.
