Everybody, everybody wants to love
Everybody, everybody wants to be loved

Those are lyrics from Ingrid Michaelson’s song Everybody, which has been blaring through my speakers in my office as it plays on repeat while I edit. You know those people that stop you in your tracks? The ones that you just want to watch and observe because there is something different about them. Something different about the way they experience life. The way they give and receive love.

Those people are the Garcia family for me.

I met them back in November of last year when I shot their Christmas portrait. Little Roman is growing rapidly; he’s transforming into this grown up little boy with a sweet, tender personality. Oh, how he’s changed over the last few months. He’s exploring and searching, taking in every little detail as he does his best to run to and fro. He loves to snuggle up next to Angelica and PJ to point out the wonders of the world (birds, flowers, and squirrels the day of our session). Though his personality is emerging, he can rest assured that his Mommy and Daddy aren’t far behind as he explores.

Their love is strong and deep for Roman. They’ve figured out just the right balance when it comes to letting Roman be independent and showing him the way.

Everybody wants to love. Everybody wants to be loved.

Everybody should get to experience PJ and Angelica’s love.
