Personal Trainer to Friend | Austin Photographer

Three years ago, I was a student at UT. I ate Wendy’s practically every day as I spent the majority of my life within the walls of the architecture buildings. I was fed up with how poorly I’d treated my body. One glorious morning as I drove into school, my favorite local radio station, 96.7 KissFM, announced that they were going to give away personal training sessions. I listened to what I had to do and entered by sending in a picture of myself and a story about why I wanted to get in shape. I wasn’t one of the finalists chosen, but they offered specials and discounts to begin training with the personal trainers. After much discussion with Dustyn, I decided to do it.

This is the story of how I met Melinda.

She kicked my butt. I was sore for weeks, completely and utterly unsure of what it felt like to be able to move without pain. My body quickly began to respond to Melinda’s training and advice, and I started to gain control again. I also gained a friend. Melinda and I spent many hours together in the gym as she trained me and I attended the hardest spin classes ever.

Even though I’m not training with Melinda now, she’s still a friend. She has two beautiful dogs, Holly and Kelsey. We met up at an off-leash dog park in downtown Austin for a session with the pups.  I hope you enjoy the photos!
